Planning application live

21 July 2021: Loxwood Clay Pits Ltd have submitted their application to West Sussex County Council (WSCC), for "planning permission for a clay quarry and construction materials recycling facility (CMRF) for CD&E wastes including the use of an existing access from Loxwood Road, the extraction and exportation of clay and restoration using suitable recovered materials from the CMRF to nature conservation interest including woodland, waterbodies and wetland habitats"

You can view the application on the WSCC website searching for application number WSCC/030/21 or click here to access.

The public now have until 30th August 2021 to comment.

What happens now?

The Stop The Claypit campaign group will now review the application and then, with the help of pre-appointed consultants, will circulate a summary of the key policy objection points and some guidance notes on ‘how to object’ – please look out for this here on the website & social media channels.

If you then feel you want to object, as many people as possible should submit their own individual formal objection to WSCC – please note that the deadline for comments is 30th August 2021.

Anyone over the age of 18 can object and this can be done by hard copy letter, by email or via the WSCC web site.

We encourage you to wait until we share our insight so that your objection is relevant to the "specific issues known as material considerations" which WSCC can only consider.

Please help us to spread awareness among family, friends, neighbours so as many of the local community who could be impacted by this commercial development have an opportunity to comment before the deadline.
